My pics are bad but here is a description- it is purple and sort of like a cross between a GSP and Clove as has a nub like a GSP but the polyp is totally purple but clove like a palm but much smaller. It is not matting but branching as it grows on the rock island.

Cloves maybe
Not in the least. Some people don’t like some types of cloves, but they aren’t dangerous. At the top are clove polyps.
