It's a harmless good guy. Filter feeder, doesn't hurt anything, sign of a healthy tank.

I agree, harmless and a great sign, but it appears the sponge might be tickling the mantle of the clam in that tiny spot, preventing full mantle extension. If that is the case, I would pop sponge bob off, even though he is cute. I had tons of these show up in tanks before, chances are you have more in cryptic areas.

I have kept an eye on this and it seems the clam opens up all the way. I will continue to keep an eye on it. The clam is more desirable than spongebob lol.
