What size overflow for 65 gallon

I've been thinking of setting up a prop. system in the basement for a while now. I was cruising craigslist and found a 65" gallon Long for sale (48x18x18 roughly) with a stand. I'm thinking it would be perfect for what I want to do.

Still in planning mode here, and not sure if this project will come to fruition, but here's what I am thinking.

I've seen these replica Ghost Overflows on ebay:

They come in sizes 800, 1200, 1600, 2400 GPH. I've never run a beananimal type overflow before, and I wasn't sure if there are draw backs to TOO big of an overflow. I'm guessing I'd be ok with the 1200, and I would probably be using an Eheim 1260 for my return pump (i think that is what I am currently using on my 50 gallon)

Thoughts... suggestions...comments?

Why not get a 2400 gph overflow? You know you'll have headroom for your current and future pumps.

Overflow throughput is a matter of width * active height, why not give yourself more room for a more active flow?
