What's the heaviest tank a third floor condo can safely hold?

Is the 3rd floor the top floor?

It would be nice to find a condo on 1st floor that you could put a sump in a storage area in the basement :)

if you bought a 180, find a first floor condo....

personally I would not set that up on the third floor. if you place it on the left or right wall I am afraid that those may not be load bearing walls. please make sure the floor will hold the weight even if you need someone to come in and check it. Better safe than sorry.

I had a 60g hex - 2' footprint, on a floor of a house built in 1905
2x8 floor joists on wood piers, no cement footings or anything anywhere
Tank was only up for 10 months, but it didn't move
I did put a steel jack in the crawl space under the approx area where the tank was located

A 180 is bigger, but the weight is more spread out
But who knows what they used for joists 34 years ago?
I've seen places with 2x4's as floor joists, better to make sure in advance
Also check the Condo rules as suggested
Some places are so anal they don't allow grilles on the outside patio's decks
Due of course to the chance of a fire
Also, any condo you look into; check the main breaker panel
I would make sure it is at least a 100a service, and hopefully the panel isn't full.

I just read an article that says it's not going to happen. Smaller than 125. I think i'll pass on the condo.:( JenC, it's in Dracut......Unless, I do a 72bowfrownt, maybe but probably not. I love my 180!;)
