Not trying to start a debate here, but who knows who the designer is. Maybe a man, maybe a woman, maybe AI, does it really matter though.

I may think it's a joke and others as well, but with the way the world is currently, some may find it offensive. Imagine if someone wrote it the other way.

It’s funny you say that. I got 2 AI’s and the mounts. I ( a male) found them well designed with the adjustable heights and how far out they can come from the wall.
The only thing I didn’t love was that the plastic screw cap had to be put on after the mount was in place over my rim.
People have beautiful minds that work in different ways. Mine just happens to be good with mechanical and spatial things!

Im just sick of all the PC bulls*** that people spew. Society in general needs to grow a thicker skin because when the real sh** hits the fan things will be a lot worse than someone made a joke at my expense. If the OP was str8 up hating on men/women thats different but it was a joke which doesnt always come though on the internet. IMO, if you get overly upset about a bad joke then thats on you.
I hear ya bud, I grew up in a different time. Personally it doesn't affect me, but unfortunately it may affect someone else, and your absolutely correct about how things interpret on the internet. Sometimes things don't interpret in real life either. Trust me I have two teenage daughters and hear all sorts of things that shouldn't make people upset,but to each their own.
Just trying to keep a level field. I hear about you can't say this, you can't say that. Two teenage daughters here and as the President and direct representative of this Organization I'll gladly take on the the role of keeping things fair.

I remember not a few months ago a very sexist poll on this forum about men/women and reefing, that poll was very enlightening, lots of charming dudes spew their venom and sexists theories about women and reefing. It disappeared before I had the chance to write an appropriate response. Because a lot of the men that answered that poll had horrible things to say, I guess they are the same reacting to a joke that should not be one but is really nothing compared to the level of sh…. That poll brought up. I can see that someone thought that answering by a very unsavory joke, ( way more sexist and gross) seems ok and that member got some support by other men. Double standards, or just the old saying that if a woman say something she is terrible but a man is real manly to do it and it’s perfectly normal.
The original post was clearly a light joke, more about how the mounts are a pain to assemble then the engineering skills of men vs women. Clearly it ruffled a few feathers.

I more than likely removed the post that your referring too. If someone reports a post and it continues to go on and on and people get upset regardless of if it's a woman or a man posting about it, you better believe that I'll remove it.
Moving forward if anyone feels threatened, disturbed or just down right uncomfortable by anything being posted here, please report it. I personally don't care who says it or if they're a long time member or not, they will be handled accordingly. This club is about reef keeping knowledge and sustainability of our reefs.
