why can't acros survive in my tank

>i used oceanic salt the week before they died i beleive thats what killed them<

Ahh...

>well thats my problem i added so many things
i couldnt figure out what it was
i added a reactor,stopped using 2part, ph monitor,substrate,caulpra<

Ahh again. When you started using your reactor was there ever a period of time while you were dialing it in where the alkalinity, or calcium levels in your tank feel to low levels? Or do you even know? (I'm not trying to be mean here, just trying to help out by finding out what may have occurred).

When you added sunbstrate, does this mean sand to the tank? (sorry I didn't ask the question more clearly before)

When you were getting crazy number from your pH probe, did you try anything drastic to push the pH up?

Carbon can likely help to remove some of the metals if that's really the problem. Large water changes would also help. I'd still say there's a decent chance that the frags were pretty well stressed out my the long iodine bath. How concentrated was the bath?

what kind of kit should i get to test metals

none..you would have to bring your water for lab analysis.
you could test both your source and filtered water.

you could filter the metals out of the tank if they are presents..however, it's a constant battle if you just keep adding them in from your source.

regarding the refractometer.. yes..some swing arms types are inaccurate..i found mine to be right on within the normal range, however down at hypo levels it was off a bit. an option would be to test it against a refrac and just adjust your readings based on that. you could borrow mine.
