Why does my skimmer go nuts when I add a filter sock?

Seems to happen every time and just wondered what causes this.

LOL yup I'm sure. My skimmer is flowing like a river I actually unplugged the skimmer am rinsing the filter sock.
Thus usually happens when I forget to soak the bag for a bit but not usually this bad.

i assume you are putting the filter sock on the output which restricts the flow of the skimmer output thus raising the water level in the skimmer and cause it to skim more wet.

Nope, checked the skim level and nothing was different. Something on the sock made it go nuts. I actually had to lower the riser pipe pretty low so the cup wouldn't fill.

try a nylon...not kidding...Iffer uses nylons where it dumps into the sump...works great, no air bubbles...

I think it was just that I didn't prewash the filter. I ran it through the wash and all is good.

I am not using the sock on my skimmer. The filter socks are on my drains into the sump.
