Why PE mysis is so oily?

This stuff is digusting!! I rinsed/washed it like ten times and repacked.
A lost about 1/3 but I feel much better.

I like hikari mysis personally the fish seem to love it and so do the corals, I dont think its too big for any coral/fish I have in my tank either.

That sounds like PE that might have gotten thawed out then refrozen.

IME the PE is WAY cleaner and larger sized peices as compared to the hikari.

Then again, PE reccently changed their packaging, maybe a quality change (drop ? ) came with the packaging?

I also think the PE generally is much better than the hikari. Mine generally rinses cleaner as well (except for this one package, where I agree - it did seem somewhat oilier than usual).

FWIW - PE is the only mysis my mandarin will eat. Not sure why, but he won't go near Hikari.

You might be right. I don't recall my last bag of PE was this bad. It was dark brown. Almost black.
