Woke up this mornin to a leaking tank. ughhhh!

that has to suck, how big of a tank, from what I have heard once they start leaking even slow you risk a blow out but luckily for me no first hand experience.

any big buckets or those Brute barrels people use to mix water, time to start moving things out and start process of replacing.

good luck

That is exactly what I was going to say.

I would also suggest you verify it is the tank and not a bulkhead or hose that is leaking or wavemakers set too high, people have been fooled before

Already been all over the plumbing it's the tank. It's leaking somewhere around the bottom. I have plenty of containers. I just got it set up last weekend. I have no idea when I'll be able to afford a replacement tank. This one was bought private sale so there's no warranty. It had never been filled before, so I had no reason to suspect that it would or could leak.

Its a sixty gallon cube 24"x24"x24". I shutdown the sump to see if it could possibly be a leak in the plumbing. I marked the level in the tank to see if it would drop. Im gonna watch it for a bit to see if it drops.

Do you know how old the tank is? If the tank has been sitting dry for a very long time(5+years), the silicone can dry out and create a leak.

With the sump shut down the level in the tank has dropped a quarter inch in the last hour. Looks like its time to break out the twenty five gallon tubs. Ughh!

I appreciate the offer, but I dont have three hours to make the round trip. 29 gallons would probably not be large enough for everything. Thanks anyway.

No problem, I assumed it probably wouldn't fit everything just thought it would work for your most important pieces and you could use totes for the rest, just letting you know it's there if you want it

Here's the latest. After transferring everything into tubs, with the sand the last thing out, I discovered that the bottom of the tank had cracked from front to rear almost smack in the center. Ughhh!! With money being a huge issue, someone had recommended taking another piece of glass cut to the inner dimension of the tank and siliconing it in ad a new bottom. Any thoughts?

If Done correctly this will add, much more strength to the tank also.

I checked with banner glass in Wakefield. They said they could cut the glass, but it would be next week. Petco still has their dollar a gallon sale that ends tomorrow. But I would have to pay full price for stand. Ughh! Wtf does anyone near me have the ability to house my rock and stuff? I havent given up yet but I I don't have many options in my current financial situation

What kind of stand is this tank on. Should probably make sure the top is level. If one corner is slightly lifted it would twist/crack the glass.
