She is testing Alk. She told me that it was around 8-9 dKh the other night.

Are you testing Alk? That's just as important as Ca for the corals.

Oh, yeah, I did the alkalinity tested at 9.6 dKH, tonite

I just picked up lots of snails. I also picked up a huge Sea Urchin (from Clam Man -- THANKS!!!) to help with the green hair algae that I have. The only thing I used to cycle the tank was uncured live rock and patience. The nitrates/nitrites were through the roof for a while. I thought they would never cycle, but low and behold, they did!

SPS really arent that hard to do, you just need ot have the things they need, and a lot of people try to keep them in situations they can't live.

I have 3 x 250 mh and vho's for lighting and 2x 6100 tunze's for circulation. I think that will suffice - now I just have to keep the water perfect! I love SPS and just fall in love with every hard coral I see. I really would love to have them dominate the tank.
