Yellow Tang sick or something else?

Hello, I just got this guy last weekend I'm not sure if the spot next to his pectoral fin is normal due to stress or if he is sick. I didn't notice it at the store but I didn't really look closely after he was in the bag (tank had 6 of these guys so not sure if it's the same one I was eyeing in the tank). Anyways what is it and how should I treat it? Bad pictures are below, the spot looks worse at an angle than straight on. The Tang is swimming around fine and eating but the spot looks like it's growing(could be my imagination too) so any help is appreciated.

if it is eating, keep an eye on it to make sure it isn't getting larger. Feed selcon and garlic soaked food a few times a day. Could be a collection scrape and will go away on its own.

The spot hasn't changed much and the Tang is still eating like a pig so I'm not going to worry about this for now as it might just be due to stress. Still has a few more weeks to go in QT before I can move him.

Keep an eye on it. It could be the start of hlle (head and lateral line erosion) I suggest it as it seems to be around the start of the lateral line. Yellows are pretty susceptible to it. And I have read that it is more common is systems running carbon though I have seen no proof of that.

If it is it may never get worse or could get pretty ugly. Healthy well fed fish rarely die from it but it can be disfiguring.

Spot is almost gone so it must have been due to handling but I have another question. Whenever the water quality in QT starts getting worse the tang breaks out with little white raised spots almost looks like ich but within a few hours of changing the water it looks perfectly healthy again. Is this normal for yellow tangs or should I treat it for ich before I move it to the DT? If it's ich does it go away that quick?

Edit: Some searching online seems to be pointing to lymphocystis and can't really be cured

Lympho or cauliflower looks more like white clumps stuck on the fish's fins.
This looks like it was a tank capture wound.
How was the fish caught from the tank at the LFS,netted?

The fish is doing good now, the dark spot is almost all gone and looks perfectly healthy at this stage. The LFS did net it and I assume bruisied it during that process. The lympho like symptoms were showing up when my QT water quality degraded but would disappear shortly after water changes so I'm assuming it takes over whenever it's immune system weakens.
