Any one with experience treating black dots on marine fishes

Bought a small yellow tang from OceansInGlass a week ago, I put him in the 20g long qt with copper since. He is doing great, eats well, swim well and go in out the pcv blocks fine.

today with a magnify glass, I noticed a tiny little salt grain sized black dots on him, his not fully covered but there are black dots on his body/face.

I had successfully treated marine ich (white dots) with copper on all of my fish before. I just never had or seen a fish with black dots.

will copper cure the parasites? what is the best treatment for this?

P/S: Ever since I learn how to qt new fish (a year ago), I have always quarantined every new fish and treated with copper 4-5 weeks before I let them in my dt tank. (so far so good )

thanks

it's another form of ich...black ich...copper should take care of the problem. I've never had a fish with that before but i've seen it and heard of it. On the copper treatment i use it says also works on black ich so i would think copper would take care of it. Copper takes care of all inverts as far as i know. I would continue treating him the same way you have been and he should be fine. Someone else with more experience with black ich will probably say something as well though.

black ich is nasty...hyper salinity bath for aprox 3-4 mins....read up on how to do it...if u have problems trying to find info pm me...
