Bought a JeBao RW15 from the meeting's sponsor, FragFreak, today.
Before I begin, I want to thank FragFreak for a great deal and a great pump.

Here is my first impression:
1. Size and shape: size is almost the same as WP-40 but the shape is significantly different, in a good way, so you won't confuse it from a Tunze.
2. The cage is more open with a significantly bigger opening. The opening is close to a WP-60 instead of WP-40. It claims to push more water than WP-40 too.
3. Controller is where the biggest improvement, I don't use wireless so I don't care about that yet. But, the ability to control speed during wave mode is a big plus. Also it can slow down significantly to 400GPH which make it more useful in different situation.
4. The thrust during wave mode is much stronger than WP-40 (both set at max speed).
5. Flow is a lot wider, may be due to the larger opening and the newly designed cage.
6. the controller finally has more light on it and make it look more high tech (depend on taste...) and it is very user-friendly. You don't have to look up a cheat sheet or remember a million button combination to push.
7. What I don't like is the same weak magnet mount.

I agree with Dong, I have been using two on my 90 mix reef and love It, I am also using the Jwave computer controller with it for really good flow patterns.

I think Jebao has a strange way to name their pumps. RW15 is more powerful than a WP40, similar size too. I have not seen the RW8 in person yet.

I also notice it is very quiet. The propeller seems to be bigger than a WP40. It definitely stronger than my Tunze 6100.

how is the spread width of the flow?

I think it would be cool at some point to get a bunch of pumps and side by side test them.

I use single RW15 in a 4x2x1 feet tank, no dead spot.

I have three tanks, same size.
All powered by a single flow pump: RW-15, WP-40 and a Tunze 6100
The order I like the flow in general is: RW-15>WP-40>Tunze 6100 (due to Tunze's controller is so limited)
The force felt at right out of the pump at Max speed: RW15>Tunze 6100>WP-40
Flow width: RW15>WP-40>Tunze 6100
Controllability: RW15>WP40>Tunze 6100

After got tortured by Ecotech MP40 and MP10 for years, I refuse to use any MP pump if they don't fix the over heat motor and noise issues.

Been there, done that with Ecotech MP pumps. Had enough with the noise, vibration and broken shafts when snails crawl inside. I'm done with them, good reddens! Hopefully Jebao will give Ecotech a wake up call and a re-alignment.

no, it is a traditional prop pump

Just an update, the magnet is stronger than I thought, it actually works on 3/4 thick glass.
Just several days ago, my hand was caught between a pair of Tunze magnet holders, @#$% it hurt. Now I appreciate the Jebao magnet more.

FYI, the speed adjustment during wave mode is in steps (I guess it has 10 steps, the older controller is three-steps).

The else mode is still the most useful mode IMO.

Also, the controller works with older WP pumps (which is not a surprise). Despite the RW15 (equivalent to a WP40) is the biggest one currently, you can buy a WP60 (pump only, no controller and power brick) for cheap and you get a wireless capable WP60. It rocks.

Dong since I know you have tons of sps in your systems, which mode do you normally run your jebao's on. I'm curious if I should try a different mode then w1.

"Else mode" is what I use. The reason is that if you put a pump in wave mode, it generate very little linear flow. The mechanism behind wave mode is to tune the pulse to match a intrinsic resonance frequency of a tank which caused the wave. That is why Tunze recommend a stream pump with their wave box. Wave alone is not good enough flow for coral.

I could see after a week that W1 only sort of aggrivated the corals . they closed up . but that may not have been just the flow , seeing as how when I changed to else mode they opened again Im inclined to say that was it
