Need some advice ASAP/911 style!

I came home to find my carpet anemone worked his way into the cover of my power head. His body seems fine, little to no damage noticeable, but he is as stuck as can be. I unplugged the power head placed the nem and the cover on a rock. Anyone got any additional advice? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1413842138.604316.jpg

cut the power head and get him out make sure u use nice new clean razor and dont cut nem just the power head happend to me before and i had to cut powerhead

He has literally left me with no place to cut. For the time being, I am going to move him into the current of another power head and hope he deflates enough that I can cut him out.

I agree with taking a step back for a moment. If you can do without the head for a day or two. Give the nem some time as it may work its own way out.

It does make me think of using a tooth pick and some fishing twine. Hard to explain over the phone, but spread the bars apart slowly to avoid breaking... Sort of like getting out between prison bars( no personal experience with that of course) ;)

There is obviously super glue to glue the head back together, but I would try to give it some time and help the situation along a little bit, but not too much.

Reefstarter, are you suggesting that rubbing ice on the part of the nem that is stuck inside will encourage it to squeeze his way back thru?

That sounds reasonable as well. The nem will move away from the cold and pull back on its own...

.

+1 on that, nem will wiggle its way out without any harm.

let it runs it own course for a bit (few days) then if it can't get free on its own, then add stressors or cut him out.

I agree to let him be. He should work his way out. I had this happen before but my nem was much more tangled up. I ended up cutting the nem out and nursing it back to health.

Any updates?
