Requesting advice on mistake with Bulk Reef Supply RO/DI system order

I just realized that I made a mistake with my Bulk Reef Supply purchase, and I’m not sure how best to resolve it.

In a nutshell:
I originally intended to get the 5-stage Premium Plus 75 GPD RO/DI system and add on a drinking water kit. Then the thought occurred to me that I could make a small improvement if I chose a different package containing [what I believed to be] the same 75 GPD system but with the drinking water kit included instead, and then purchased a HM Digital Triple Inline TDS meter separately.

The problem was that the second package was titled “5 Stage 75GPD Drinking Water RO System with Silver Faucet,” and I completely missed that it only said RO, not RO/DI.

For ease of comparison, these are the five filtration stages of the item I should have purchased:
  • Stage 1: GE ROSave.Z 1 Micron Depth Sediment Filter
  • Stages 2 & 3: BRS 1 Micron Universal Carbon Block
  • Stage 4: 75 GPD Dow Filmtec Membrane
  • Stage 5: Nuclear Grade Color Changing Deionization Resin

And here are the 5 stages of filtration in the item I actually purchased, with differences in bold:
  • Stage 1: Purtrex 5 Micron Depth Sediment Filter
  • Stage 2: BRS Chlorine & VOC 5 Micron Carbon Block Filter
  • Stage 3: BRS Universal 1 Micron Carbon Block Filter
  • Stage 4: 75 GPD Dow Filmtec Membrane
  • Stage 5: Omnipure Inline Carbon Block
  • (Missing deionization stage)

My order is due to arrive later today. It seems like I have two options:
  1. Explain the situation to Bulk Reef Supply, ask to return the drinking water RO system and the triple inline meter, and purchase what I initially intended to get.
  2. Just obtain the necessary filter(s) from BRS or somewhere else.
Any thoughts? This is my first time buying anything from BRS. If I go with option 1, it sounds like I would be responsible for shipping the items back? If I go with option 2, can/should I purchase the filters from somewhere other than Bulk Reef Supply? And do you think adding deionization as a sixth stage would be enough, or would you also recommend getting the 1 micron sediment filter from GE?

Thanks in advance!

Absolutely no expert here but I don't think you want deionization for drinking water that's why they do the carbon block in the fifth chamber Instead of di for the drinking water version.

You could just purchase a cartridge and resin. 2 Di cartridges are better than one anyways so you have time to swap out without being completely depleted. Cartridge

And T off to the DI (with a shutoff on the DI input) before the Stage 5: Omnipure Inline Carbon Block (use this just for the drinking water). Bonus this will give you two carbons before the membrane too.
