A tale of two trachys

next to each other, and in almost the same light and flow.

But the one on the left is always hungry, and the one on the right never wants to eat.

Left Trachy has feeding tentacles out all day. Just today found it pulling in a nassarius snail, which it would have eaten but for my intervention.

Right Trachy just puffs up and takes in light. For all I’ve seen, it might have no feeder tentacles at all.

It’s funny how different the same species of coral can be.
