what do people use to put zoas on a plug or rubble? is the superglue safe on the flesh? thanks in advance. i have some pinks that are growing over and i would like to trim them back

I use just a tiny dot of gel glue on the bottom of a polyp after spraying the disk with glue accellerator. I found you don't need as much glue. Never had any die-off from putting the glue on the polyp.

I use rubble, just a dot of glue, stick it on, and put it in.

I use round polished rocks to mount the zoas on. I normally use just a small dot of superglue, I have never seen any die off.

Glue accelerator, I didn't know that was a product.

One trick-of-the-trade I use to cure super glue instantly is to sprinlle baking soda on it. The super glue will absorb the baking soda and get rock-hard in seconds.

aggree with everyone else just a dot of superglue, may need more on the edges if they are sticking up for some reason

I believe I got mine from The Aquarium Gallery.

I use off the shelf Superglue gel at the Dollar, 3 tubes for a buck. IMO, you can use more than a dot without ill effects. I frag my Zoanthids, leaving them out of the water for at least 5 minutes, with fragging the polyps, drying the base of the the polyp and cure time. I dot the the glue 3 times on the frag, if it's got some rock/rubble, with each dot a little smaller than a 1/4" diameter. Without rock a good dollop 1/4". I fragged 50 or so this weekend and had all 50or so open the day after.
I like to use more than a dot, only because I like to secure it a little more. In the past I've found the less I used, the more chance it would have a chance come loose from a fall or just moving it around.

how do you guys remove a few zoas from an exisitng colony? Can you just cut off a polyp at its base?

the best way is to get a razor blade under the colony and then once it is somewhat peeled up use the razor blade and then cut the desired amount

Heavy duty, clean, utility scissors if I can get an angle or an edge, and cut a small peice off the colony. Flat rocks, a razor blade to the base with some rock attached. But, you could just cut one off at the base(without rock) and mount the base in a dab of glue.
