I had the same thing happen to me with a nother brand light, this was an hqi, I wasnt home when the glass broke. The intencity of the light without the glass fried everthing under it even the thermostat probe wire hanging over the edge of the tank,im talking that this sucker almost caught on fire! dont run the light! call them they should rush the gass out to you. The company that made my unit said the light was engineered wrong and the hqi bulb was to close to the glass wich caused it to break. I sent them a few pix of the damaged corals and the wire that almost ignited and they sent me the next generation light no charge! Picking glass shards out of a reef tank sucks. im sure you know this though. I would think after seeing that, that the glass they use is possibly special not just ordinary glass.Chip
