Probably not but thought it was interesting... LEDs are probably better positioned price/performance-wise but perhaps something to keep an eye on.

with plasma involved, i wonder what the efficiency is.....it would sure make for small fixtures if the bulb is the size of a tic tac though.....

Pretty efficient from what they said in the video (140 Lumens/watt) and no electrical connection to the bulb itself. Pretty damn impressive. According to the video it is only 6,000K and they didn't mention any other kelvin temps so I wonder if other temperatures are even possible.
