I think that is about right. ...it is all about marketing and justifying a higher cost to the buyer.
My advice is this: Buy what you like and pay what you think is right and don't worry if it is LE or non-LE.

I know you can't change the names now, but maybe they should be called 'Rare" or "Limited". Limited edition usually indicates that there will never be any more produced, and that is not the case with something that grows.
Things that are slow growers and not fragged often and are rarely sold will always get a higher value, but also it is a sign of demand that makes soemthing valuable not only availability. If you have the only frag of an really Ugly coral, you may get someone to pay you for it but its probably going to be much harder than if you have a frag of a beautiful rarely fragged coral.
As with buying anything, the buyer needs to make sure they are getting what they pay for. The words "Limited" and "Rare: are used on eBay all the time for stuff that is neither.

I would say be glad some people in th BRS value LE and and other corals cloned with fancy names.
If not they wouldn't bring them into the area and frag them up and flood our market with them, only driving the price down. We have a very successful group as far as people succeeding in reefkeeping, that changes the game a little. Many of the rare and LE corals sold on the site are cheaper than the regular strains sold on many vendors sites let alone the shipping costs. A few members on the site will ship usually around 10-15 bucks instead ot 40+ of most online vendors.
I think it is a good thing all around. Some of the nicest tanks I have seen are people who like to collect rare and limited edition corals,
probably due to their nature. Not to say they are the only one with nice tanks.
I am sure anyone could take something someone does and break it down and call it is stupid or say it doesn't make sense but what does it matter if they are happy with it and it gets them to where they want to go. Even better if other get to tag along on their coat tails.
All in all reefkeeping in itself is a pretty irrational hobby so it is like spliting hairs in the end

(If you can't figure it out.....I can't help you) When I get multiple pm's in regards to a thread & how other people feel it is directed I tend to get irritated....
