You'll see the little tails/heads sticking out of his mouth for a few days be fore he spits them out. Pretty cool to watch. They are free fish food tho.
My wife wanted me to remove the male from a fully stocked 210. Right!!!

Heh, now that's fishing, Bill.

If you were quick, could you potentially net the male BEFORE he spit them out and move him to a breeder net/sanctuary? Once he spits them out there, move the male back to the main tank and grow out your little ones... just a thought.

From a 210 gal tank? good luck with that! Things must disappear in that tank and not me seen for weeks.

You'd have to be lightning fast! Have you seen Bill's tank? :)

Congrates Bill. I was wondering when that was gonna happen. It will be interesting to see if they make it to adulthood. Of course, like you said, they already ran the gauntlet.

Thats is sweet. Good luck with the babies. I will be watching for more pictures. Thanks for sharing with us.

I wish I could say I knew from experience, but I don't. Biggest tank I've ever owned is my current 55g setup. I don't have much trouble catching fish by hand in this tiny little thing :p

update on Bengis

I kept 4 and gave 2 to another member for his fuge. I moved them into my 55 fuge. Three of them hang out in one end of the tank and one hangs out by itself in the other end.

those things are cute! I saw one or two of them at Frank's the other day(I think it was franks....my memory sucks!) and they were awesome.....I hope my clowns do this...

Been awhile. Here's some pictures I took tonight. This guy hangs by himself in one end of the 55.

These two are never more then a few inches apart. The one on the bottom is about 1/2 the size of the one on top.

Of the six I saved, two went to another reefer, one died with in two weeks and the other three are doing well. They've eaten crushed flake lately, but they've basically
been living of the fuge.
Pretty sure the male in the display is holding eggs again. He just stops eating one day, still chases food but won't eat till he spits out the fry.

They are growing on me more and more...So cute and just a cool fish to watch, good job Bill!:)

Just get one Tab :D. By all means, cardinals aren't exotic or unique but I love my cardinal. He just hovers and bothers nothing. He snaps up food like a champ. Plus they are small so they don't really add to the bio-load tremendously.

I forget where I read it but you can wait until it's dark in the tank and then turn on the light with a net handy. Since they are mostly nocturnal they will be momentarily blinded by the light and you might be able to scoop it up.

Was doing a water change and cleaning up the fuges last night. My male Bengi must have spit out his young. I see three tiny little faces in the fuges. :)
The fry must be getting smarter or luckier. Still have two from the first batch down there. Now a least three more. Almost two month to the day.
The little woman needs to give him a break.::

Stop playing the Barry White in the living room at night. :D
