175 bulb/ballast combo into 250 socket?

I am finally getting around to changing out my lighting setup from 250's to the Iwasaki Eye 175's, and have the 175 ballasts & bulbs. Only problem is - the sockets are supposedly rated for 250W (Lumenarc Mini's).

Does it really make a difference? I'd think a socket is a socket is a socket....
