29 biocube HQI and LED stunner strips

I recently purchased a 29 gallon biocube HQI from a fellow member and was thinking of adding one or two 12 inch LED stunner strips. Not only do I want to improve the look of the tank and corals with the additional lighting, but I want to cut down a little on the use of the halide and supplement with the LED's saving a little power.

1) where would be the best place to mount the strips on the light? There's two metal flaps (for lack of a better term) on either side of the light that would accommodate the strips I think but they get kind of warm and I don't know if that would be detrimental to the strips or not.

2) would one or two 12" strips be too much light, in addition to the 150W 14k halide, for a 29 gallon tank?

If anyone's made this mod before or has any better ideas I'd love to hear them. Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I have added them to my ecoxotic panarama light on my AIO 34g solana. They come with super strong double tape and can go anywhere. I suggest getting the reflectors, it doubles the output. The wires link together, make sure you get the right plug for your plans, they offer 2.

Here is what mine look like...

That's pretty sweet. Mine doesn't have a hood though. the light is mounted on an adjustable arm on the back of the tank.
