Wondering if you ever printed or seen plans for this type of thing? It's a surface skimmer mod for an Aquaclear HOB. My goal is to use something similar for a canister filter the ability to surface skim and hide the intake pipe. This photo is from amazon but much smaller than I would need for a canister intake.
@Chris.Sturgis do u have a template for a skimmer stand? I have this skimmer (https://www.saltwateraquarium.com/r...Dzpev6FQV2Cmx9UtJFvPT6lvqCXMY47RoC0W4QAvD_BwE). Looks like the footprint is 8.3” x 6.9”, so might be a 9” x 8” would work?

Max is the file size is 8x8, that is determined by my printer bed size.

Yes looks like it. Do you think it would handle the intake of a canister or best to stick to the HOB with this?
I was imagining using something like this with a piece of black acrylic sheet extended off on each side but not touching the glass on the sides. So I could hide the return nozzle and heater behind it. Maybe even a small vertically mounted gyre. Keeping everything out of view. This would be in the back of a 54g corner tank that’s not able to be drilled and I’d be too afraid to anyway.

Might be able to work with a canister but seems like its designed for the Aquaclear 70 only.
