72 Build thread

great job with the tank and plumbing i have the the same tank and stand
and trying to figure out the biggest sump that will fit what are the dimensions of your sump and did you slide it in from the front or the back i tried a 29 gallon and it would not fit maybe im doing something wrong any suggestions
thanks,mike

haha getting that sump in was like a jigsaw puzzle. We ended up taking off the middle wood bar at the top of the stand & lowering in the stand then replacing the bar & sinking the nails in.

The more I look at the tank, the more unhappy I am with the rockwork. I'm hoping the smaller pieces will fill it out better

thanks i thought i was crazy no matter how i tried i could no get the 29 in there i guess i cant use your method since the tank is already full i'll figure something out thanks for the info

Have not updated in a while.

Moved all livestock from the 20 to the 72. Hubby got impatient for bigger fish so added a really neat single spot foxface that has a wave instead of a spot as well as a tiny hipatus tang (I know bad me... but it was a condition he insisted on to let me upgrade tanks) So I've got a nice red slime bloom because of all this pre-mature extra bio load. I'm getting it under control with a bunch of small water changes & I'll post pics of the final rock scaping & all once the slime is gone. :)

Glad to see progress on a fellow 72 owner. Are you struggling with scaping around the overflow? We need some pics!

No problems with the scaping, I moved a couple of the new larger pieces around when I transfered everything & am much happier with the rock. Its a corner overflow not one of those off center ones.

& the real reason you are looking at this thread. A pic of the tank with sand... still dry.

You sure about that!!!LOL:p :D
