I received a free used Trigger sapphire sump that has a crack in the bottom. I am going to try and repair it and it I can't I haven't lost much since I have the glue and acrylic sheets.

The cracks on the bottom are slightly offset and not level. I was curious what everybody's thoughts would be if I warmed up the crack put glue in the crack and then put flat wood and add weight I side the sump to try and flatten them?

Obviously if I can safely flatten the crack it would make for a much stronger repair with the sheets of acrylic.

Forgot to add the pictures it's barely offset but enough that El Presidente cut himself :ROFLMAO:

That has to get flattened out and I'd recommend an acrylic plate "patch" that covers the entire crack. Be careful with heating, I wouldn't use a heat gun but I would soften it up or try to with hot water in a bathtub or shower. If you don't relieve the stress around the crack it's likely to continue cracking. Let us know how you make out. Worst case would be cutting entire bottom off on a table saw then replacing the whole bottom panel. Use Weld-On 16 for this, not the runny #3 or #4.

This , although regardless of doing the patch I would feel as doing a full acrylic sheet along the bottom would benefit you quite a bit to reinforce given that's not a small crack

I like the bathtub/shower idea to warm it up thanks!
