afboundguy's 35 gallon and display fuge build!!!

That control board came out the Balls.
Wait till it's painted and finalized. Going to look awesome with the logo. Plus it's chaulkboard so I can basically write anything I want on it with chaulk or liquid chaulk

Was home for lunch and heard the familiar honking UPS drivers do and was surprised that my order of PVC parts for mixing station came so quickly! I ordered through 247garden and I have ordered many times and the prices are amazing and the orders get here super fast!

Got a tablet mount for the Chromebook that will be on and it isn't totally flush with the controller board and slightly angled and I wasn't sure how I would like it but I have no issues with it and like the flexibility this mount gives me!

That control panel looks so neat, that's good work Dave
Thanks! Once I paint it and get the awesome little thing @Chris.Reef was able to print for me while my printers continue to gather dust will look awesome

It will look even better once I hook it all up to!:ROFLMAO:

Painted the trim of the custom controller board a semi-gloss black. It's better than it was but might repaint it a flat black in the future.

Checked the length of most of the sense port items to see if I will need any extension cables and should be all set. Might need two whenever I get the water changing station up and running!

I ordered a couple of different black surge protectors as the one I have now is awesome but it's yellow so it would stick out like a sore thumb. Not sure if I'll mount the new surge protector to the outside or inside of the side trim. Ideally I would like it inside but I'll have to play around with it once I get them both in my hands.

I plan to drill holes in the bottom of each side trim for wire management purposes to tidy it up. I did mount the Kraken's PSU with 1/2" aluminum spacers to allow for better cooling!

It's official! RKE controller is offline and Hydros is up and running!!! I still need to do some wire management but it's a huge improvement already!

In case you don't remember how beautiful it looked before here's a quick reminder

Got some work done today to include setting up a kalk reactor! It's way overkill (Icecap large) but I'm only starting to dose 100 ml a day and I'll go from there.

I am using the pre-programmed kalk reactor already in the Hydros so it stirs it every 4 hours and doesn't dose until 30'ish minutes after it's done stirring.

I also hooked up a spare pH probe to try and monitor the pH in the reactor so I can gauge when I need to refill it!

Swapped out old ATO for the Hydros version and found a nice corroded magnet! Luckily it only really touched water when I had the return pump off and luckily I don't do that often!

Hooked up a single Hydros dosing pump to run the vinegar/carbon dosing so I could ditch the Jebao dosing pump that was only dosing that!

Also hooked up the phyto dosing to the Minnow (2 headed dosing controller)

Finally hooked up the battery for the backup. I had to disable the auto-charge in the kraken since it can only safely charge LSA batteries but I have a LifePO4 safe battery charger. I have to add a step up converter to be able to run the Jebao return pump but the Mighty Jet for the fuge/mangrove tank worked in low power mode (it switches from 24V to 12V) and the skimmer pump worked as well!

I had purchased a small fridge/freezer combo to try and consolidate the two fridges I have downstairs already with the promise or putting all my frozen food downstairs as well which wife was a fan of.

Spent longer than I thought it would have taken to redo the stand and adjust the 2020 extrusion pieces but happy so far. I decided to move the wine cooler that holds the white worms as well.

Well the cleanliness didn't last too long in the pursuit of progress!!!

I redid some of the shelving on the other side of the phyto/pod shelving unit to fit two brute trash cans for a mixing/AWC station.

Made a quick shelving unit to remove the plastic shelves in the long run and put the larger of the two fridges I had under there as all the phyto I keep in larger jars for pods and dosing wouldn't fit in the fridge/freezer combo I picked up.

After. I did keep a few of the plastic shelves on top until I get around to finishing the rest. I did secure it to the side of the phyto/pod stand.

Hooked up a sensor to get room temperature and room humidity with a $10 chip with the Hydros on the breakout box. I can't get it to display anything except the numbers but still pretty cool. I also ordered a CO2 sensor to hook up down the road as well!

Hooked up some OctoPulse 2 pumps to the Wave Engine and took out the DMP10 and SLW20 and set the programming to LPS reef with 5-10 minutes of nutrient export at night once lights go off. It will free up some space on the smaller controller board for some future ideas!

Setup my QT tank and cannibalized some Reef Breeder ATOs with the help of @dz6t to setup an ATO so I don't have to worry about evaporation. Eventually want to plumb in a 20'ish gallon tank to try and get the pair of Indigo dottybacks to breed and try and raise the fry with any luck! Right now it's between the DT and mangrove tank.

Lastly tidied up the 3-part dosing pumps and attached them to the extrusion with some 3D printed holders thanks to @Chris.Reef and it looks great!

Last project for the day was hooking back up the CO2 scrubber. I hooked it up yesterday but mounted it under the stand and ran the intake line up to a casement window.

Cool set up!, Been following. What brand battery is that? Or did you add the USB/volt meter? I want one now :)

You can always go in series with the LiFePO4 and skip the 12v>24v to avoid drawing 2x as many amps and some losses to heat to make the voltage jump. One thing about these vs. lead acid, is they cannot handle very high current for long, though you're probably not drawing a lot with the pumps. The circuit will shut it off after a certain point and depending on the battery may or may not auto reset or need to be completely disconnected before reset. This makes them a lot safer and will instantly switch off if shorted out (Tested with a screw driver ) great for wet locations. I use 2 in series for a powerwheels 4 wheeler. They're great batteries, handle lots of abuse, lasts about an hour or more at full speed 2 kids on it.
