Hi!

I am using sea salt to make the solution. The instructions online say 1 tablespoon per bottle (slightly less than 1 liter of water). But it also say that they need specific gravity of 1.018.

I have added about 3 tablespoon of sea salt, and it still only 1.016, am i doing something wrong? =/

Depending on the grain size and moisture content of the salt you are using the actual amount of NaCl will vary greatly. For example there is nearly a 2:1 difference in volume needed between Kosher salt and table salt to get the same amount of NaCl (2tbs Kosher = 1tbs table). Sea salt tends to have a large grain size so it could be the same situation. Also, how are you measuring your specific gravity? Is your hydrometer calibrated? A difference of about .002 is usually within the error range of most hydrometers. Good luck.
