Blenny and royal gramma compatible in 20 gallon tank?

Anak’s Reef

Formerly known as Blennylover01
Hello, I have a 20 gallon waterbox cube and I have a royal gramma in the tank with a pair of clownfish and a cleaner shrimp. I am looking into getting a blenny but I’m not sure if a tailspot will be a good choice with a royal gramma. I heard that they can change their colors the tailspot blenny, so I’m wondering if both fish will be okay in the same tank. I heard royal grammas and blennies don’t like other fish that look similar. I was looking at a bicolor but it’s similar to a royal gramma, what do you think about a tailspot? If you have any suggestions or information about The tailspot or if you have any info on how to feed them that would be great as well. Thank you so much!

I don't have any info on either, but I'm sure someone else will. Good luck.

Royal Gramma has a big mouth But it is harmless in my experiences. I kept it for years and it never bit any other fishes. Well try it and if it doesn’t work out, you can sell the Blenny to someone else. Easy to catch in a small tank.

I have a Royal in one of my 32 biocube tanks. From what I noticed, they won’t go looking for trouble but they’ll defend themselves. My royal gave my female clown a nice blemish on her eye for a week.

Oh wow. Okay, so they won’t attack others? I heard of some royal grammas that bully other fish that look similar to it. Thanks for the information, Is your female clown okay? My royal gramma likes following my pair of clownfish. He doesn’t do much. Always stays in the arch with my cleaner or is sticking his head out of his hole.

Ahh okay. I’ve seen my grammas teeth. He likes to “yawn”, when I see him. Blennies don’t go hiding inside rocks right? My gramma does that and he always stays in the arch or in his hole. We were looking for a fish that swims around so he did it swim so we were trying to catch him and return him and my friend didn’t like that he had scratches on his fins so he wanted to catch it and return it. But it was really hard to catch him so we ended up leaving him there. Heheheh

I had a bi-color blenny and royal gramma in a 60 gal with no issues at all. They both slept in the same rock tower.
I had to move the blenny to another tank (start eating my purple stylo colony) and it now quarrels with the clownfish.

Oh really? Ok maybe I will get a blenny. Thank you so much.
