I have a bubble about the size of a jellybean and don't think I can remove the rock it's on.What are my options?Any advise/input would be appreciated.

emeral crabs but i also have this weird bubble like algea growing but its really nice looking ill post pics at a later time

i have it everywhere in my fuge and some here and there in my show i herd they arent bad but can spread quick emerald(mythax crabs) would be my guess too

personally i like the look of the red bubble algea

Just try to pluck it without popping it :)

Is sends spores that turn into other bubble algae

Thinking of "plucking" it but I don't want to burst it, how fragile is it?.will it burst on it's own eventually?

Bill,

Suck it out with a hose - if it breaks then continue siphon for 30 seconds to a minute and then rinse the bucket and hose in fresh water and let it sit. Remove what is left of the bubble if on a rock by hand. Do not use the emerald crabs... they do get rid of them in sight, but in the end they create more as they break them. It is best to take them out by hand... I have done this successfully many times... also if you increase Calcium additives they seem to not reproduce as quickly.

Best advice is to get it out as soon as you notice them.

You can also use some calc paste over them - they shrivel and die as well in tight places.

you can try to pry it out of there..some will release easier than others.but if it's attached on 3 sides..it probably will break.
i had 3 emeralds..only 1 left.. i have never actually seen them feed on the valonia,, just continue to pick at things within rock crevices..it's like they don't even see them all over the rocks.
but,,i have noticed a few empty white skinned algae bubbles..so who knows.
