can bubble algea be poisoned?

extreme thought, but I am probably not the first.
It is living well in my tank.
my emerald crab has 2 bubbles on it's hind legs...
But seriously, does anyone know of anything you could dip or soak LR in to kill the bubble algea and not kill all the bacteria in the LR ??
could do this in a separate 10-20g isolation tank.
I am planning on moving the LR slowly from an established to a larger tank so I am in no rush. just hate the stuff.

I've injected the bubbles with boiling water and it killed them off. But if you have a bunch of the small ones, then it wouldn't be too fun. I would recommend getting more emerald crabs. I put 5 in my tank and 95% of my bubble algae is gone.

I got rid of my bubbles with a turkey baster. My emerald crabs walked right over the stuff.

You must be thinking of something else. Bubble algae won't blow away with a baster.

Any ideas on how to get rid of a huge bubble algae bubble wedged between my overflow and base rock. Tough spot to get at and if I move the rock it will burst. I was thinking of trying to inject it with a kalk paste.

I have emerald crabs but they only take care of the smaller bubbles. This thing is a little smaller than a golf ball.

if you inject it it will leak out anyway..... get a couple emerald crabs.....

I personally don't worry about releasing spores. I'm no expert, but I would think it has to be is a certain stage for the spores to do anything. I've popped tons in my tank and never had it get as out of control as you see in other peoples tanks.

Steve....i dont try to blast them with the baster, i suck them out with it. I cut the end so it fits over the bubble, move it a little side to side, then suck em out. got rid of about a dozen bubbles and did not pop one.
