Cleaning a new, used, tank

Picking up a used tank today that is "in great shape" but has been used for a turtle and koi in the past. Owner says that he has never used copper meds for the turtle--just conditioner. For Koi, it was only a wintering tank.

Any other reason I wouldn't want to use this tank? How should I clean it before starting my cycle? Sorry if this has been discussed before.

Thanks!

i used a diluted Muriatic acid. That stuff takes everything off. Use with precautions as it is powerful stuff. well vented area and gloves are a must

Steve, thanks for the input! Sounds like it might be out of my league, but I'll check it out at the local hardware.

I thought the same thing but it was nothing. really. cleaned the tank like whistle. for light algea and grim...vinegar works great but for hard coraline this stuff kicks butt.
