Well i had a 55g for 2 years then i upgraded to a 90g .. but my corals seems bleach .. they still grow .. but lost the color .some more than others .. my alk is stedy at 8.4dkh .. my calcium at 420 ppm my mag at 1400 ppm my nitrates less than 1ppm .. lights are aquatic life t5 4x54watts ati bulbs 2 coral plus 1 blue plus 1 tru actinic . Photo p. Blue plus go on at 9:00am to 8:45pm .. the two coral plus go on from 10:30am to 7:30 pm phosphates on 0.06 on my test kit .. for water movement got a jebao wp40 and jebao rw8 just upgrade my protein skimmer to a reef octopus ro 2000 with a aquatrance 3000s pump my temp.79.1 stedy ..run carbon and gfo .. any sugestions please ???

Take out the gfo may help. It worked for several people already.

If i do so how ill be able to control phosphates ? Also want to mention that i have a frog spown that have growt from 2 to 10 heads got two hammers and torch 2 heads (suppos to be real green ) is pale green but still opens all day .. but have a gold torch that only open polyps about 1/4 part of what is supose to .. it actualy split on two heads but is ben almoust close for several months but still alive

Algae scrubber, chaeto in fuge either of those will help keep po4 down maybe a marine pure block or two

Test your phosphate level after taking out the GFO. If it is below 1 ppm, I will just leave it alone. Coral consume phosphate as food.

I was running GFO , carbon turf scrubber , fuge . corals got colorless and nitrates would shoot up from time to time . once I took everything off and only ran the fuge things got a lot better . My theory here is that the corals never got the chance to use the nutrients in the water . once they were able to they took off with incredible growth and color . Another thing was my alk . I had thought it was running at around 8.5 . But in reality it was closer to 6.5 or 7 I think the lower nutrients you have the less alk you should run . ( just my thoughts here ) Like Dong says I would take off the GFO and save some money there . give the system some time to find its own natural balance . once it does you will be amazed

Well ill give it a try .. just turn the pump off .. and turn it on may be for a day or two when po4 comes up .. till i can figure what to do with my refugium space iis empty (i just rebuilded my sump to fit my new protein skimmer ) and is just about 9×12" .the refugium space .

I would take it off line completely if you are going to stop running it. I don't know if GFO would have the same issue as biopellets, but years ago I left my biopellets online, but stopped tumbling them. A deadly gas built up in the reactor. And in a series of stupid mistakes, I somehow opened the valve to that reactor and turned the pump back on, which pushed all of that gas into my tank.

I had several fish die within seconds. Again, I don't know if the same gas buildup can happen from GFO, but I would remove it completely just to be safe.

Yes, agree with Andy, take the entire reactor off when not using the GFO. When water stop flowing, the water foul quickly inside the reactor.

Well i stll want to find a lfs who got a good test kit .. to comparate my PH... PO4 AND NO3 my red sea is alredy expired on that (red sea algae control) just to make sure im where i think im
