Now that's really is uncalled for grow up! You guys wanna be stuck in the past like this club and not accept deep sand beds are not recommended any more keep it up and to your selfs. Don't recommended it to new reefers as no one does it any more because it's proven not to work. Still running your under gravel filter?

@BiGGiePauls33 i would definitely say you need a break you have done great but your way over the club and hobby. Taking a break you will enjoy the hobby again. I get accused of being on drugs and it's to much for you to handle edited I get it's volunteer but it does come with many benefits.

You do you. My tanks were exceptional. DSB in every one including my frag tanks. They were up and running for over a decade. I’m sure there are plenty of people still here that saw them before I broke them down. Don’t try to shove your sh** down anyone’s throat. We all have our own way. I was very successful and will be even better this time WITH dsb in every tank.

Well, with all this ***stuff*** , the question still remains. Those of you who still use sand, what do you use? We used Southdown back in the day but I don’t think that’s available anymore.

I run bare bottom the past 5-6 years but have used Tropic Eden reef flakes and meso flakes mixed together with food results

Looking for a cheap sand that comes from the ocean /beaches. Southdown was the big thing years ago but I believe they stopped farming it. It was dry and came from the tropics somewhere. It was pure white and less than $10 for a 40 pound bag.
Yeah I haven't seen it since 2008ish. I think I got a bag from Mauro around then before he moved to Florida.
