If the water is not murky anymore do you think i should get a canister filter still?
I think that the tank is now on the way back to normal, and thus far all figh and corals are alive (unless there was a small frag that I somehow missed somewhere). The rocks are in the new tank with a filter like this, with no chemical filtration. I took the filter and filled it with filter pads to pull out sediment in the water.:
It is a bit small for the tank but I don't have enough salt water to fill the tank yet. The water is clear now and the sand and rocks were just moved there this morning. Along with the filter there is a korilia 3, creating a very turbulant surface. I have an airstore i could put in if you think it will help.
Most the corals and the fish(4) are still in the 10g shown in the picture. They will be moved either tonight or tomorrow, once i have a chance to fill the rest of the tank and fix the aquascape. It is very clear now and all corals are showing great polyp extension. I used a filter pad in the bubble trap to clear sediment, and there is macro growing.
In total about 20 gallons of old water will be in the new tank, and 30 fresh. Do you think that the bacteria will still be enough of a concern that I should buy a canister filter? Or should I just get the new tank up and running and just do lots of water changes? Like 5 - 10 gallons a day for a week or something?
Thanks
