Nice job and it's done quite a few holes. I have a few questions. The device holding the drill, where did you find that piece? Also the polished column, could it have been a part of the fixture?
The entire thing was purchased as a Universal Drill Press Stand. Instead of there being a wood stand..it comes with a cast iron one. The polished piping comes with the press and is bolted into the cast iron stand. i brought the piping to home depot and had them thread it for me to fit into the cast iron base you see there. which can be found in plumbing. im not sure what its typically used for...
the whole stand cost me like 19 dollars. On the underside of the wood is some very sticky rubber material used to put under your dishes in the cabinet. i got some heavy duty 3m spray on adhesive. this works alright...not nearly as well as being suction cupped on. it may work better if i had a cast iron tube instead of the acrylic one. the acrylic one gets lifted up off the glass with the mater and coolant swirling around so fast. which gets absorbed by the matting and it slides a bit. when the bits are sharp it works great.
the drill i got at ace for like 60 bucks...so the whole thing was like 80...not too bad
