Hey guys,
I am looking for some help with what I should do here. I purchased a waterbox set up with sump. Upon further inspection once I got home I found a chip/crack in the bottom back corner of the display. It’s along the bottoms edge of the back pain of glass. Is there something I can do to fix this? Is this going to be safe unfixed, or fixed/secured to use?

Also, on the sump I found a larger issue. I think this I caused. Pretty sure that’s garbage.

I mentioned it to the seller with pics, he mentioned j.b weld or 5200 to reinforce the joint. (Back of display)

I’m not here to point fingers, give names, etc. I just want to know if I have trash on my hands or not?

Thanks for your help,
Adam

That looks rough. I personally don't think I'd be comfortable with having that tank but you could always fill it up with FW and see what happens...

Agreed with above also would help to mention what size tank? Even then I’d still be skeptical running it.

The main display is 59.3 gals( image 45 and 46)

The sump, fan shaped chip( image 47). Upon first sight, I knew the sump was trash.

Would you guys say the display is also?

you are looking at around 500lbs of volume between rock sand and water when set up. I personally would not chance this as damage is pretty substantial to the corner and th last thing you would need is for it to fail dumping all that water on th floor

It's toast. Probably hit something during transport. Happened to me a few years back. The tank moved in the back of the SUV and hit the door hinge. I had to trash it.

Yea agreed it’s no good that’s a bummer. Was hoping it was only 10 gallons maybe then you might have had a little time with it. On the flip side reptile tank!

Sign up to become a paid member and I'll pass along a 40 breeder that I picked up from @Kens Bees that I planned on plumbing into my system for a grow out tank. It's drilled with a modular marine overflow and 3/4 return. Couple pieces of PVC or tubing and you got yourself a pretty decent setup for free. Simple 2x4 stand or you can pick something up that may be a bit nicer. I'll even throw in a sump that probably as larger water volume wise too. Will grab pics tomorrow when the garage isn't frrrrrreezing, spent enough time out there today swapping summer wheels and tires to winters
