Gotta get a new tank

Last night my top center support broke on my 55:mad:. Looks like I will have to drive out to Sharon to pick up a new tank. After seeing Mike G's glass cages tank in person I will be getting one. I will be taking my truck so I can fit an extra one or two tanks depending on size if anyone needs the transportation back to the Hudson area.

OR as temp insurance, use a clamp from HD to support the center. (the ones sold in the tool section, usually used for wood working) Just don't crank it down too tight and crack the tank :(

If I were to do this, I'd drain about half the tank, then install the clamp so that it's snug but not cranked really tight, then refill the tank. This way you wouldn't be putting a bunch of stress on the tank trying to find the right tension, but if the tank bows any in normal use, the bowing would be contained by the clamp and should keep it safe for the short term.
*I haven't done this, I'm just suggesting what seems logical to me*

I've also got a 75G you can borrow if you want to be safe. I'm right down the road on the sudbury/stow line

New tank

I've got a 75 that you can use as well and I'm in Marlboro. We met
at Mike's on Sunday.

Thanks for all the offers, I built a temporary brace for now to keep it together. I will be transfering my stuff into my qt tank and a couple of tubs this Saturday. If I run out of room I will take the offer to borrow some stuff.
Thanks again,
Chris

I have a 55g that is empty right now. You can use it if needed. I am only 20 minutes from Hudson, MA.
