Could it be a result of your stand not being shimmed properly?
Could it be a result of the tank not sitting flush on the stand? By that picture it appears that the frame overhangs the stand a bit ... though the glass appears to be directly above the stand the frame is a bit outside!
Determining the casue will help you to rectify your problem? If it is stress then it more likely then not it will rupture sometime in the future. If it were a result of an accident then would feel a bit more comfortable.
Could it be from that other table that is up against the frame maybe someone bumped that table up against the frame of the tank and it chipped the glass, it appears by the texture of the chip ... (the waves) ....that it started from top to bottom.
