Has anyone gotten rid of GSP using kalk paste? I just tried it tonight but it is too early to see if it actually worked.
It does work. Put it down, wait a few minutes then suck it back out. Kalk paste will kill just about anything.
I was able to take the rock out, run hot water over it and scraped off the glass anenome with a razor. This way any spores that it realeased went down the drain. So far.... havent found any others.
This may be a really dumb thought/idea but I have been trying to figure out how to do the same with some PSP and was thinking maybe just covering the area in some reef epoxy. Preferably done in small areas at a time, could it possibly work? Or will the PSP just be able to grow through it if not killed first?
Sorry if I highjackedJust an idea I have been considering..
It is really unfortunate that you have to intentionally kill something that you knowingly purchased and placed in your aquarium. Sorry, i like gsp
It's a sad day when "pretty" specimens nullify the value of life of those lower on the beauty scale.
Putty definitely works. But I have lots here and there...unfortunately
The GSP was one of my first colonies....really wish I NEVER put it in my tank.

BTW I just leave the kalk paste in place and let it dissolve into the tank.
Whenever I give GSP to someone I always make sure to tell them not to put it on the rocks. It's the reefing equivalent of herpes. You think it is gone for a few weeks, then polyps out of nowhere.

Hmmm....call me the GSP murderer......![]()

I'm with Chuck. If it gets out of line its gone. Lucky for me i don't have this problem.
