Hey guys,

We recently added two small Halimeda plants to our 30gal nano tank about two weeks ago.

Last night, I noticed a small (~ 1cm) spongey white thing growing on the side of one of the Halimeda:

Any help IDing this spongey critter?

This is the white, spongey blur halfway up the Halimeda here, with some bits of black substrate stuck to it. The bright white rocky looking thing further up the plant is a calciferous piece of Halimeda.

From the pic it looks like it could be a pineapple sponge. If so it is a good thing. Any chance of a better pic?

Sponge or some sort of tunicate. Hard to say exactly, but it's most likely not a problem.

Man you guys have good eyes.
