help re: closed crocea

Division Champs
Went on vaca and come home to low sump level,so low that the return pump wasn't even suckin air anymore.good thing my enternal closed loop kept things somewhat o.k.All parms seemed to be normal except salinity was on the low side:confused:1.023 added 4 gals of kalkwasser in the last 30 hrs slowly and brought the salinity up to1.025. A few things were closed up.A favia(one of my favorites) bleached but I'm more concerned about a crocea that's been closed since I got home over 30 hrs ago.Completely withdrawn. The mantel extended only a tiny bit early in this morning and then closed again as more lights came.I have had it for 2.5 yrs.Sorry for rambling Just trying to give as much info as possible.I'm At a loss as what to check for or do for it.thanks for any help.

Thanks Andy.Did that.I did change a DE 150 AB 10k bulb for a XM 15k about 2 weeks ago.Could that have anything to do with it?

depending on the acclimation time...could....new bulbs are always a shock to the tank inhabitants...gotta acclimate them over a couple of weeks with either less hours or window screening layers

thanks Andy!
It was only one bulb and still useing 4 6mo old t'5s overdriven as well.I think the bulb might have been older than stated. When I bought ti was supposed to be used for testing only but it was awefully(sp?) dark and sooty inside .Not sure if thats typical but the Ab's don't look like that even after 11 mo.I going to look in the early morn and see if I can spot anything...snails...!Oh! BTW I have a smaller clam that closed up yesterday.Anything else to check for?Would a dip of some kind help/hurt?

tough call Bill....check for snails or other parasites....foot still anchored? I have a small 2" crocea on the sand of my 75 frag with 4 overdriven t5s only and doing fine....might just have to wait and see...good luck!
