Hello,
I wanted help from professinals and i wanted to know i want to start a 10 gallon nano and need help.
First i need to know the best affordable lighting system to buy i want to stick with prob PC lights. i will use about 1-1.5" sand bed with about 10-15lbs of live rock. i also wanted to know if i could keep 2 clowns and maybe a small clean up crew maybe. i also want to have some shrooms and etc. <-- also what do you think would work and look beautiful as far as shrooms and etc.. also what filteration system should i go with and circulation system. also i do not want to have a sump/fuge just want to keep the 10 gallon by itself. please in new to nanos and would love to have one on my desk in my office at home. thanks

just a fyi i have right now a 75 gallon with pc lights and about 60lbs of rock with 2 clowns, 1 damsel, hippo tang and etc.. but i really want a nano please help all info will help me out. i have done lots of reading in this site for weeks now so any help on these questions i would appreciate it. thank again.

i think you could do 2 small fish and that's about it. even with clowns, it would probably be wiser to go with the smaller species, like ocellaris or percula.

in terms of lighting, the 1x96w powerquad made by coralife is a great light. or you could put a retrofit pc light if you're going to have a canopy. another light that many people use over their 10g is a 70w metal halide retrofit.

these lights may be a bit overkill if you are intent on only doing shrooms but the 96w pc would give you a bit more flexibility if you were to want LPS or an anemone in the future.

you should have a clean up crew. probably a dozen or so snails/hermits would be good.

A BTA would probably be fine with a 96w PC, or even a 65 in a 10g. Clowns dont swim too much, so you should be fine.

Realistically, if you're looking to just keep shrooms, you could probably go wiht a pair of those 18w striplights, or retro in a pair of those curly-q compact fluorescent lights.

Nano-reef.com is a great site for nano-concerns.

BUMP
I ordered the Corallife 96W 50/50 20" lighting system and i would like to know what kind of powerheads i should use.

my guess is somewhere in between 100-150 gph, flitration people just use hob (hang on back) skimmers they seem to like cpr backpack and aqua c remora
double check about the flow and filtration with somebody else
good buy with the lights
