So I don’t want to name the company but it was an online vendor that is well know. I bought a couple of scolys and tried to buy a acan from them. I received a text from the vendor that the acan was not doing well and offered to substitute out. I declined and asked for a partial refund but kept the order for the two scolys. Here are the photos that were advertised as wyswyg on the website. I received them yesterday and I have attached them here yesterday in acclimation as well as what they look like now. I reached out to the vendor and they keep insisting that one scoly was very healthy but if you look you can clearly see it’s receding significantly. The photos in acclimation are right after I took them out of the bag. I have been in the hobby for over 20 years and from my experience when scolys look like that they don’t puff up like the vendor is telling me. Curious to see what people here think and if they would be upset. My photos also show some of my other scolys next to it showing my others

Those don't look as healthy as the pictured scolys. I would be very upset. Nursing back to health can be tricky and shouldn't be your responsibility for the price you probably paid. The edges are algae-covered and that's not from shipping...that regression was probably weeks ago. They should offer a heavy discount for the damaged corals. They know this too. If you were in a store, there's no way you would buy those corals full price.

They are telling me now I have to wait till Sunday and they will only give me a store credit for the one that’s not healthy. That other one is super healthy. I may have to complete a dispute on my credit card

It’s so tricky buying things online it’s so easy to take deceiving pics. Like said could be a pic from weeks ago or maybe it truly does puff up over that skeleton edge/they just took the right angled shot to not show the edge. I’d be upset as well hopefully something comes of it good luck!

I would put it on blast. I’ve had a bad experience with tsa and didn’t say anything but it left such a bloody taste in my mouth that I wouldn’t be quite ever again.

Ya I guess I was hoping they do the right thing but they haven’t. The vendor was Queen City corals

Try escalating it a little bit more and threaten legal action. I know it's a smaller amount of money but it may work.

So I am gonna start this with dont kick me off the list for the torch frag lol.

SO
with that out of the way imo both scolys dont have shipping or recent ression. One looks totally fine i see under 5 scapula showing and there red and algae covered. Yes with that much ression a scoly can picture very nicely and almost look totally happy and healthy and puff up to cover recession. I have seem it have owned it and won't own them any more. So is it a health scoly now it might be but it's definitely damaged in the past should price and description refect that definitely! Is the other puffer imo then the 2 reds you have in picture yep so imo asking for anything on that one is a reach.. if I am wrong my bad and please let me know but pic ending in 96 looks like pic ending 04 to me.
