HI
I have 2 MP40W s and after setting them up (apparently correctly) I get the blinking red light on the master

any ideas
thanks Frank

so beleive it or not I have 3
all bought used

I switchout the one that wasnt working (an hour ago) and 2 now play nice

the 3rd I would like to set up in my basement, but when I did this (a few weeks ago) I got the red blinking light after about 10 seconds of running

have you tried a reset?

I have a pair of 40's as well as a 10. For some reason the 10 refuses to work in any ecosmart modes as a stand alone. It was runing as a slave in the past, which is how it is currently. I am thinking there is a firmware issue in the driver.

The reason I ask is if you have done a reset and that doesn't correct the problem that maybe you have a driver issue. Is it a w-es model?

yes we have reset a lot

the one in the basement that gave me the dreaded blinking red light a month or so ago, now works as the master up stairs

it is 5 years old, I think it is the straight mp40w....

when the lights blinks red it stops working totally

I'm not familiar with the earlier generations. I'd be curious if theres a bad connection in the driver; I know theres a small connector inside the case that allows you to "unplug' the pump from the driver. Probably safe to say warranty coverage isn't a concern, you might want to have a peek inside to eliminate that as a problem. (es drivers are just 3 phillips screws holding the back cover on the driver)

I have had this before... a very good cleaning of the wet side usually fixed it. My problem was the prob would slightly stick and cause an issue.

Also, make sure the spacing gauge is set correctly for your tank.

I have been using 3 MP40s in my tank for several years and other than one wet-side magnet rusting open at about 2 years, I have had zero issues with them that a good cleaning and a reset didn't fix.
