Thanks Lee, i finally got the power heads and return nozzle angled so i have no still water and my sand bed is relatively level throughout. Now to start planning my live stock...
well what happens when you add corals and fish and stuff? a bio load starts, therefore waste. if the tank isn't established it has to cycle...i'm pretty sure you don't have to cure it, all tanks cycle.
So, i have had my mother baby sit my tank the past 10 days and she has taken excellent care of the tank, to her standards. I'm anticipating the worst but hoping for the best. I'll post some pictures of how the tanks coming along after 10 days with no maintainence other than top offs. Inc pictures in the next few hours!
Pictures are of my vanderbuilt? chromis ( I have three )
A two week old picture of my toadstool I got from reefermedic, it's a lot more cupped and a lot larger now...my emeralds also felt it would be better in the dead center of my tank between two rocks now.
A branching frogspawn that has one baby head visible in that picture but has many more when you look at it.
I also picked up a halloween hermit crab (because they're my favorite) from skipton's as well and he's roaming around my tank too now.
My new pair of Onyx clowns that I've slowly fallen in love with since I saw them sometime at the beginning of June and every visit to Skipton's since then
My aussie elegance I got from brokereefer
I need to get a picture of my devil's hand and various Zoas once the lights get on tomorrow and I'll update with that and a FTS
Ha, my girlfriend is pissed about it but her philosophy is that it keeps me stimulated and calm while I'm studying to be a doctor so it will be worth it in the long run...and then i can build a 30,000 gallon reef tank around my living room
I've decided to hold off on any new additions to this tank for at least 3 months besides freebies=P I want to let the tank really become biologically stable and to see heavy biological growth everywhere. My next steps are going to be large so I want everything to be as perfect as possible
I figured letting everything I have grow out and for the sandbed/rocks to become a little more live would be best...I also want to build a new sump with a bunch of reactors and stuff, gotta prep for an SPS garden
