We just picked one up this week also. They sure are pretty!
I stuck a piece of 1" PVC in the sand at about a 45 degree angle. Then I used a turkey baster to suck most of the sand out. Once that was done I picked up the Blue Spot out of the bucket and closed it around him so he wouldn't flop out. Then I opened my hand a little right above the hole I made and the little bugger when right and and cleared the remaining sand out. The only thing I could have done better was put an PVC cap on the bottom of the artificial home I made him. He kept clearing the sand and it kept falling down. I put a few pieces of rubble down there and that stopped the problem.
would one have to worry about a serpent star sneaking up on him at night and making him a meal? (provided you have one in your tank?)
That sounds like they refunded you the pre tax price. If you buy another fish you shouldn't be charged tax again.
Wait a shippment or several, then go back and get another BSJF. Super cool fish, but that one was not healthy
Mine's doing great after a year, and I got it from the same place.
in the first pictures it looked healthy. how long did you take acclimating the jawfish?
