my re-build thread

Who is CS? is it going to be rimless? Starfire glass? I dont even have my tank done, and I want to start a bigger one

CS is a club member here who builds tanks for people. I've seen some of his tanks and they are phenomenal build quality. Mine will be rimless, with a custom overflow.. but i decided not to go starfire due to elevated cost, according to CS it scratches way easier than regular glass, and because on thinner glass it seems to make very little difference.

It was an option we discussed however...

+1, I went with regular glass aswell. If it was 1/2" or thicker I would probably go Starfire but I didn't pull the trigger either. I wish I could make it over to CS's place Sunday to pickup my tank:(....I guess I'll have to wait another week to see it.

LOL i was thinking the same thing..

my head hurts now... i can't decide if i should go for a 24" tank... if i did it wouldn't be a full 120, it would be more like

48x24x20 or maybe even 48x24x18. Figure less height might help make up for the light coverage a bit...

I'm not sure though.. i've got to ponder this one a while...

Go for the 24 inch depth, that way you won't wish you had.

Well let me just PM you my address in Cumberland RI so you know excatly where to bring it:p

Ya know, I'm actually busy this Sunday. :p

You've got your whole life ahead of you. ;)

you guys are just trying to make me go broke :p :D .

You're right... i'll just have to start looking for a stand... Mauro is selling a used 120 stand, not sure if it's quite right for me though...

i hate that i'm such a sucker for stuff like this... but at least now i can call it a true "upgrade"
