My RSM 250 is finally coming to life :)

Chrissy,

The colors in your tank are spectacular, what are you using for lighting? The colors in my tank get a washed out look even the frags I got from you look that way, my water conditions are good at least what we commonly test for and my lighting is 6T-5's over 60 gal, the growth is good it's just the color. BTW I have a Nikon 105 if you want to try it.

Jim

Thanks Jim! I have 6 T5s as well. What are you using for bulbs? I'm using all ATI bulbs- 2 blue plus, 2 coral plus, 1 aquablue special, and 1 purple plus.

Hello Chrissy. You have a beautiful reef tank. Loved reading through the thread and watching the tank videos. Can you please detail what filtration, skimmer etc you run on this tank? Also what does the frozen food assortment consist of?

Many thanks and keep the photos coming. The photos are absolute eye candy. :D

Thank you! The RSM250 is an all in one tank, so the skimmer is designed for the tank. The sump is built into the back of the tank... I took out the stock sponges and I use 2 bags of Chemipure Elite and a piece of fine filter floss to help filter the water. :.
Here are some new pics...

Many thanks for the info and for posting the new photos. This is a BEAUTIFUL tank. Love it! :D This tank needs to be TOTM!!! Seriously, this is an amazing tank. The coral scape looks superb and the SPS colours are GREAT! Do you visit Reef 2 Reef much? This tank would definitely make it TOTM there as well.

Would love to know what your phosphate reading is and what test kit you measure phosphate with?

Many thanks.

Thank you, Sahin. I only use API tests for everything except magnesium, so phosphate shows up at 0. Also, I forgot to answer, the frozen mix is any 2 or 3 of these: Mysis, brine, baby brine, blood worms, cyclops, rotifers and plankton. I do visit and have a tank thread at R2R...keep an eye on the Reef Spotlight for March ;)

Yayyyy! I'll definitely look out for the March R2R TOTM article. Would be nice to get all the info in one nice article with lots of photos.

Thanks guys! I've been slacking on the updates because it's summer and I'm not home as much, but here are a couple of new pics...

Some monti eating nudibranches snuck in through the dips and multiplied too much before I discovered them :( I tried for months dipping the whole colony, adding wrasses, manually removing them, etc, but I ended up tossing it. I haven't seen any in months and my digis are fine now, so I'm pretty sure they are gone. I'm going to wait a while longer and then try it again, but in the meantime, I put a chalice up there.

I am sorry to hear about that. Nice chalice though. I was worried there was some I'll effect from stacking. I think I am going to try it now.
