Need some assistance - sumps

I've been reading for hours. Plans are firm - I'm downgrading to my 29g and in seeing a couple of BRS member's tanks lately, the one's with sumps looks amazing, no clutter etc. Being the least mechanical person ever, reading for hours on end on sumps and how to build them is just frustrating me. I'd like to get the project underway, do they take a long time to set up? Can anyone offer any help? I have a small tank to use but otherwise, do places sell a kit with everything you'd need?? That may be best, I'm just not a DIY kind of person, at least not knowing anyone well enough to help me that is experienced in this hobby. Thanks for your advice, I'm relatively lost.

I'm currently doing a DIY sump/fuge project. I have been without one for 5ish years and my tank looks great. There are a lot of sumpless tanks that are better than most sump'ed tanks (like Peters PVH)

And yes they do make pre-built sumps it all depends on where you want to keep it and how much room you have.

I agree, I'm sure there are just as good if not better tanks albeit sumpless, I just thought I'd try it for cosmetic purposes, everything would look so clean and uncluttered. I know there time and energy involved and I don't see it being worse for the fish so win/win...but we'll see how far I can get with it. You can hire people out there to do it, right? Out of my league.

Let me know, if you don't mind..how your making out with your project.

Ang. I just started building a sump. Im using a 20long and put glass baffles in it. I bought the glass at Lowes and they cut it to size for me. I figured out what I wanted by reading at Melevsreef.com and going and talking to some the guys over at Underwater world at the mall. Im still waiting for the silicone to cure but its almost ready.
